On November 12th, the 15thChina International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition opened in Zhuhai, where China's first set of hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engine and hydrogen supply system gained attention by being displayed at the booth of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC). Southwest Petroleum University fully participated in the development work led by AECC Sichuan Gas Turbine Institute, responsible for the key tasks independently, and developed China's first set of hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engine hydrogen supply system.
Professor Tang Junlei, from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, SWPU, led a team that began research on hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engines and hydrogen supply systems in 2020. As one of the earliest scientific research teams in China, they carried out research work related to hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engines.
Tang Junlei said, hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engine research, development, testing and use must rely on safe and efficient aviation hydrogen supply system and is the key technical point. His team will continue to focus on this core technology, promote vigorously the development of China's hydrogen-fueled aviation turbine engine.(Zhou Taigang)
